I do not particularly care about Bowe Bergdahl, his parents or what happened to him when he was playing in the Taliban’s sandbox. He is, at this point in time, totally inconsequential to me. Plenty of time to ponder his fate at a later date because this story is going to go on for-e-ver.
What bothers me is that Barry used his “mighty pen” and signed away the soul of our nation to the devil. Oh, he had the opportunity to retrieve Mr. Bergdahl three years ago by simply paying a ransom for his release. He refused. Why? Because he was determined to use the release of the defector as a way to empty Gitmo, thus keeping one of the million or so campaign promises he made in 2008 and 2012. Regardless of what our government is telling us, I am certain money changed hands. The “captors” are a mercenary group and getting their buddies back was just a small bonus to them.
Funny how he kept quiet about the ransom request, but tried like hell to get Congress to agree to a prisoner exchange with no success. I would not doubt that he made it appear the Haqqani network was insisting on the release of the five most dangerous detainees. That is why he bypassed Congress this time and broke the law. Although, he did advise Harry Greed. Wait. I thought Boehner was third in line for the Presidency. Shouldn’t he have been briefed instead of Harry?
It absolutely infuriates me that Barry is currently speaking at the D-Day remembrance ceremony about our troops, the sacrifices they have made and the selfless way that they volunteered to put their lives on the line to combat terrorism. Meantime, back at Obama Central, his sheeple are doing all they can to discredit the soldiers who served with the defector. They are being accused of “swift boating” him and being ignorant of the facts surrounding the defector’s little midnight stroll. Barry’s peeps should re-visit the anti-military diatribe Kerry spewed in front of a Congressional Committee when he returned to the U.S. after his time in-country. Perhaps they could watch the many, many interviews given by those who were forced to tolerate his arrogant ass, proving that he flat out lied. To me, “swift boating” means vehemently throwing the truth in the face of those who choose to lie until the façade they have built is reduced to rubble.
I am enraged that those service members who lost their lives, were injured or fought like hell to capture the five vermin seem to be completely forgotten by this administration. Either that or they consider those who actually did serve with honor and distinction to be worth no more than a pimple on a flea’s ass. The same attitude applies to those who were killed searching for a man who made a conscious choice to walk away from his comrades and his country. The Ego in Chief has no concept of the consequences of one’s actions and most likely does not care about the stunning recidivism rate for those detainees released from Gitmo. I suspect this lack of empathy will extend to the families of those who might lose their lives or become severely injured in future attacks planned by the former detainees. During the current Congress (113th), Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) intends to present legislation that is intended to permit “the federal government [to] monitor radio, television and Internet speech for ‘hate,’ or material allegedly determined to be advocating or encouraging ‘violent acts…’” (examiner.com, 29 April 2014) This proposed bill is entitled the “Hate Crime Reporting Act of 2014”.
Okay, so let’s take an educated guess as to what Harry Greed, the Ego in Chief, Senator Markey or any other defender of the oppressed masses might consider hate speech or words/material that would encourage people to go out and commit violent acts. My list would contain:
Anything the Tea Party writes, broadcasts or utters at rallies;
Anything Fox News broadcasts;
Any reports posted by Breitbart.com, The Daily Caller or other publications with a right-leaning editorial policy;
My blog;
The pages I “like” on Facebook (but Fuckerberg is already taking care of them by making their online lives miserable);
If we use the DHS model of Domestic Terrorism we would have to include Military Veterans, Christian Organizations, Constitutional Originalists, yada, yada, yada…;
Anything said by Cliven Bundy, his family, friends and supporters;
Anyone who believes that legal immigration is fine and illegally entering our country for whatever reason is not (sorry, Jeb, but I’m not buying the “love” thing);
Anyone who disagrees with Barry, or believes he and Eric Holder need to resign;
Anyone who sees that it is obvious that Harry Greed’s retirement is way overdue and he is just a doddering old fool;
Anyone who knows what this country was, sees the damage that has been done by the current Administration and chokes up during the “Star Spangled Banner” not due to pride, but a sense of loss felt deeply in our souls – then expresses their opinion in public.

Markey’s proposal does not spell out the punishment that should be meted out to those who engage in such egregious activities, but I am pretty sure it will have something to do with losing your “communication privileges” either for a specified time or for life.
According to any articles I have read, he only has the support of 1% of those in the Senate, but this does not mean that Barry, with pen and phone in hand, wouldn’t push this through via Executive Order and hand control of it to the NSA. Although, Senator Markey had indicated at one point that a new Bureau should be created to do the monitoring. Yeah, right. Because we can really afford that! However, this kind of thought control is very appealing to Barry and I would not put it past him to institute the Barack Hussein Obama Bureau of Shut Up and Do as I Say.
The “Hate Crime Reporting Act of 2014” will be given life – just like Shelley’s Frankenstein. Of that I am certain. The question is when and how.
Unfortunately, I do understand what Cliven Bundy was trying to say. I do not agree with the way that he said it, nor do I appreciate the language he used. I will not make excuses for Mr. Bundy, but I will agree that many, many of the government programs currently in place (and in the works right now) only serve to make the sheeple reliant upon our government for our every need and cut into the ability for Americans to live their lives without interference by the feds. I believe the government would cream themselves if all of us needed them for even the smallest thing. Mr. Bundy was extremely “inarticulate”, as the New York Times and others have phrased his remarks. Yes, and that is being kind. However, let us not forget he is not the first or only American to be “inarticulate” when it comes to race and/or political ideologies:

What prompted the BLM to act against the Bundys now? After all, their cattle had been grazing the area surrounding the ranch for generations. The desert tortoises hadn’t complained. Neither had any of the other protected wildlife or vegetation residing there. No, Cliven Bundy had not paid grazing fees to the BLM for twenty years, but he did make payments to Clark County, Nevada.
Mr. Bundy’s beliefs might seem a bit archaic (and a touch odd to some), but he is among the growing number of Americans who believe the federal government has a specific and limited purpose according to our Constitution. He is a firm believer in State’s rights. He does not believe managing property, or restricting tax paying citizens of the United States from accessing it, is one of the limited governmental functions. Truthfully, was he harming the land? The tortoises? Other people?
Oh, wait! Stupid me. He was in the way of Harry Greed increasing the thickness of his wallet. Even the tortoise knows you don’t screw with Harry’s wallet:

Funny how Harry has been involved in several possible deals to either build solar energy plants with Chinese businessmen (ENN) or establish fracking operations in the area surrounding the Bundy Ranch. So far, none of them have come to fruition. This does not mean that there are not things in the works behind closed doors that could materialize in the future. Harry has a mercenary heart, in my opinion. He can be acquisitive, greedy, grasping, avaricious, covetous, gold-digging, moneygrubbing, and venal – all of these adjectives have applied at one time or another. He is an opportunistic liar. Just think back to his diatribe on the Senate floor accusing those who were (or are being) negatively affected by Obamacare of being liars (takes one to know one, huh Harry?), then denied ever saying it.

So, those who wish to cling to the belief that our government is altruistic and is only interested in maintaining the beauty of the land should refer to the title of this post. Those who insist the insanely heavy-handed way our government chose to deal with a man who owes money, in essence, for back rent was appropriate should refer to the title of this post. And, those who believe that we should all be sheeple and allow our government to run roughshod over us any time they so choose should refer to the title of this post. Those days are gone and the Bundy Ranch fiasco could quite possibly have been the straw that broke the camel’s back. You are right Harry, “It isn’t over yet.”
For those of you who did not read my first (and only until now) “Bite Me” awards, let me educate you. They are a collection of serious, sarcastic, sometimes angry and often “what the f**k were they thinking?” news and personal items that have been rattling through my head during the year.
Feel free to add on if you think I forgot something. Keep in mind, personal attacks, racial and gender slurs and vulgarities aimed at anyone who comments on my post will not be published. I am a big girl and I can take it, but I will not allow anyone to disrespect my guests.
That being said, here goes:
1. Jahi McMath has been declared brain dead by a judge in California. She is 13. She received a routine tonsillectomy and suffered a cardiac incident post-surgery that placed her in a “vegetative state”. What has truly been lost in all of this is “How did she get this way in the first place?” It is difficult enough to lose a child, but Jahi’s parents have faced this tragedy during what is supposed to be one of the most joyous times for a young girl – Christmas. Isn’t it easy to understand why they are fighting so hard to have her moved to a facility willing to take their insurance and keep her on life support until her “natural death”? However, the hospital she is in currently will not perform the procedure required to transport her to the nursing home because (and I am paraphrasing) they do not perform medical procedures on cadavers. Jahi is not a cadaver to her family, she is their child. This hospital gets a Vacant Heart Bite Me for their complete lack of empathy.
Update: Jahi’s family won the right to have her moved to a long-term care facility and receive the care she needs. I will pray for her and her family. No matter the final outcome, she will always be in the hands of the Angels.
2. Since I am a Libertarian, one could safely assume that the legalization of marijuana in my state does not really bother me. What does bother me is that it seems like the legislators all got together in someone’s mom’s basement with a huge bong, some good skunk weed and a few cases of Lay’s™ potato chips and said “Dude, this legal stuff is a total buzz kill. Just make it okay to smoke and worry about the boring shit later.” “Yeah, man, seriously. Hey, stop hoggin’ on that shit man! I need a hit. Oh, and give me those chips…” It seems as though we are a study-obsessed society. We study everything. The effects of baby poop on our air quality, whether purple hair ties will leak dye into our brains or if e-cigarettes are tempting our youth to become deviant smokers. So, why is it so hard to come up with laws concerning driving under the influence of pot? “Colorado’s Amendment 64, also passed in November 2012, legalizes private pot use by most adults and allows them to grow a small number of marijuana plants. However, no legal blood limit was set for drivers. The debate about what should be done is ongoing” (Edmunds.com, 1/15/2013). You can smoke a joint outside of a restaurant or a store – that’ll just get someone else high if they are forced to stand there, too. Smoke a cigarette and you are lower than a child molester! So, the “But I Got High” Bite Me goes to the Colorado legislators for whatever they were smoking – or not – before they passed this law.
Update: A chain of sushi restaurants in Colorado has come up with a pairing menu for those who smoke weed. I wonder if they are only going to allow those 21 and over who do not mind a contact buzz into their restaurants, designate a day specifically for this activity, or just run things like they usually do. Can’t wait to see how this one plays out…
3. David D. Kirkpatrick of The New York Times wrote, “The violence, though, also had spontaneous elements. Anger at the video motivated the initial attack. Dozens of people joined in, some of them provoked by the video and others responding to fast-spreading false rumors that guards inside the American compound had shot Libyan protesters. Looters and arsonists, without any sign of a plan, were the ones who ravaged the compound after the initial attack, according to more than a dozen Libyan witnesses as well as many American officials who have viewed the footage from security cameras” (nyt.com, 12/28/2013) (emphasis added).
“’I still see pictures on that TV of bloody finger prints on the wall thinking ‘are those my son’s?’ Patricia Smith said” (fox5SanDiego.com, 8/20/2013).
I dare Mr. Kirkpatrick to sit across the table from Mrs. Smith and try to explain his delusional “theories” to a mother who cannot get a straight answer from anyone in Washington. Are the Democrats in Washington so desperate to win their seats in 2014 that they are sending one of their shills out there to rehash an already disproved story and make it appear as though it is new information? For this reason, I am awarding the Manufactured Crises Bite Me to Mr. Kirkpatrick and The New York Times for their valiant efforts to bail out a sinking ship with a thimble.
4. I want to know what planet the Ego in Chief resides upon when he is not on Earth boring us with his condescending speechifying. If he is so concerned about the fact that the House Republicans have not produced a gazillion page roll of toilet paper that masquerades as a Health Care Law, as his does, I have a news flash for him. They haven’t. What they have done is come up with basic solutions to our nation’s health insurance issues as smaller bills that would not cause the chaos his behemoth has. If he wants to know where these solutions are, he needs to look up Harry Reid’s ass. Senator Reid has been sitting on them for years. My personal message to Barack – Barry, babe, it might be too late for you. You are the lamest duck I have ever seen. You would not know the truth if it bit you on the ankle and you think your silken words will lull our ears to believe all we hear you utter. Sorry, Sweet Cheeks, but you are not a Siren. Because your ego is so huge I know leaving a legacy is extremely critical to your self-image. Here’s an idea! Act like a damned grown up, repeal your law and hire people who actually know what they are doing to rewrite it. We do not need to overhaul our entire system, just initiate tort reform, tweek some of the Medicaid and Medicare requirements and allow the health insurance companies to engage in commerce across state lines. Then, maybe Harry can afford to go have surgery so he doesn’t walk around like he has every piece of legislation the House has produced since 2010 up his ass anymore. You might even leave office with a modicum of dignity. Mr. Anointed One, I am awarding you the Aesop’s “The Ass in Lion’s Silk” Bite Me.
5. You might not have done this as a child, but I never listened to my mother so I used to put pennies on the train tracks and watch them stretch and get thinner. Give me some slack – it was a small town and we still had black & white TV back then. Anyway, the penny’s length and width might have increased, but its strength and worth diminished greatly. This is similar to what happens when you just keep printing money in order to solve your problems. More money – worth less. More money – more people have dollars but they are economically weaker. The Holy Shit! We Gotta do SOMETHING! Bite Me of 2013 goes to the Federal Reserve. I am sure my future grandchildren will thank them some day when they are pushing wheelbarrows full of money into Kroger’s to get a loaf of bread.
6. I just found out yesterday – on the local news, mind you – that at least 19,000 Medicaid subscribers have had their HIPAA information hacked in Colorado. Although, we are being half-heartedly assured that no one has had their social security or bank account numbers stolen, I don’t think many are buying it. Our exchange is subsidized by the federal government, so I guess it should have been a foregone conclusion. Why will the government not listen to those who know best and install their security systems first and build upon them? So, this Bite Me is the “AND FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED…”

7. I have decided to start an organization and request 501(c)(3) status. It will be called Gun Owning, Law Abiding, Constitutional Originalist, Bra Hating Women over 50 Who Don’t Give a Shit About KimYe. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately (be afraid, be very afraid) about the power of a single voice when it comes to religion, military memorials or many things patriotic.
In a nation where our President is elected by the majority of Americans – whether they are alive, dead, legal, illegal or imaginary – how is it that one person whose granny panties are constantly in a wad has the power to eliminate any mention of Jesus, have a Veteran’s memorial dismantled in their town or force a business owner to remove the American Flag from the front of their store?
It seems to me that if you are an Atheist, a painting of a guy you don’t believe in shouldn’t bother you a bit. Neither should mentioning a God you feel doesn’t even exist. If you don’t like the American Flag, move to another country. Mexico’s flag is kind of pretty. If you don’t like the way a memorial to our fallen heroes looks suck it up, Buttercup. They put their lives on the line so you could be a persnickety dork.
For those who are unfamiliar with my blog, and in an effort to help you out prior to your posting untruths in the comment section, I am a Wiccan and a Libertarian. Read “About me?” before you commence with the bitching. It is always important to do your research before you make a fool of yourself.
Anyway, I do not like Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, cucumbers or watermelon. As a matter of fact, I don’t really think there is such a thing as a true Atheist. I do not like Priuses (neither would you if you had to follow one up a canyon for 20 miles) and people who chew with their mouths open are the Devil’s spawn.

Now more than ever, Libertarians, Republicans, and Conservatives need to put aside their differences and show a somewhat unified front. The only option left open to them is to ensure that they acquire a majority in the Senate and maintain it in the House if there is to be any hope that we retain some semblance of the nation our Founding Fathers fought so hard to achieve.
I cannot believe I am saying this, but screw Obamacare! Take care of the constituents who have been harmed by this Socialist Manifesto disguised as health care. Once Obamacare implodes (and it will) they all need to work together to ensure that the “fix” is not automatically switching to single-payer – which I believe was the plan all along. I am not a conspiracy-type person, but there are so many aspects of our government involved in this abortion that it seems all but impossible that it was not their goal from the get.
Do not fool yourselves that the use of this option will be limited to secondary court judges. History shows once the Anointed One is given an inch, he attempts to take the world. It can now be used ad nauseum to pass whatever he feels is for “the greater good”.
We can only hope that the moderate Democrats who have been fleeing the sinking ship that is the Obama Administration stay the course and are not coerced into following the Democrats very narrow, very defined party line. We can only hope that our fellow citizens in red states with Democrats as their Representatives and Senators in Congress stay angry enough to vote them out of office. And, we can only hope that the Administration does not “encourage” those liberal Supremes who are close to retirement to do so within the next 3 years and use the nuclear option to push through someone who is even more Progressive than even Kagan or Sotomayor.
I fear that many Americans do not understand the dangerous path Harry Reid has chosen to take the Senate down. Not only for our time, but for our children and grandchildren. If I were to use a “what if” scenario to show just how much impact giving control to one party could have on this country, it would be this –
What if one of Osama bin Laden’s sons stayed in the United States after he attended college, became a citizen, married a citizen and had children? What if he began a movement that resulted in courts across the nation recognizing Sharia Law as a right protected under the guise of religious freedom? What if many in whatever party is in control in the future agree with those rulings and a bill was presented to accept Sharia Law as a federally protected First Amendment right? Only 51 Senators would have to agree. What if…
Is marijuana legal in DC? I only ask because our elected officials can’t possibly think pushing health care reform through when a majority of Americans do not want it is a good idea…unless they are high on something.
Either they are stoned, illiterate, deaf or just plain arrogant. I believe the correct answer is “all of the above”, but what do I know? After all, I’m just an uneducated, trailer trash redneck living in the foothills of Colorado…or, at least, that’s what most of the Liberals who have commented on my blog seem to think.
I have been fairly quiet of late. Doing much reading, listening and watching. Some days I wonder if the government has forgotten the reason upon which our great nation was founded:
Freedom from an oppressive, arrogant Government
This is not to say that the men and women in office today are necessarily oppressive. I would rather classify them as dismissive of and condescending towards the very people who put them in office in the first place.
Nearly 234 years ago, Americans attempted to communicate their dissatisfaction with the British in a peaceful manner. Their words fell on deaf ears. While reading The Real George Washington by Parry, Allison and Skousen I was struck by the similarities between the sentiments of Americans then and now towards the “Administration”.
Read these quotes and tell me that this is not reflective of the atmosphere of discontent in which we currently live:
When suggested that the Americans write yet another plea to the British government, Washington wrote
“Have we not tried this already? Have we not addressed the Lords and remonstrated to the Commons? And to what end? Did they deign to look at our petitions? (Just substitute “taxation” with “health care reform”.)

Even though Harry Reid won’t admit it, Reconciliation seems to be the tactic du jour. However, unless the real reasons for wanting health care reform are money and power, Reconciliation won’t do them any good. Reconciliation will only allow budgetary items to be push through, but will not help people with pre-existing conditions, etc. Those things would have to be passed separately. So, this being said – WHY NOT SLOW DOWN AND COME UP WITH SOMETHING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CAN LIVE WITH?!?!
You know, I thought the members of Congress were elected to represent the people of the United States, not the President. Pretty naïve, huh? When I heard Pelosi gushing on the Sunday “news” about passing so many items in the Obama agenda I nearly puked from the sugar overdose. How arrogant of both her and Obama to ask Congress to basically ignore their constituents. I’m thinkin’ the Anointed One is grooming his daughters for careers in public service. If not, they will end up with the same crap plan he is trying to shove down our throats.
And, yes, I was one of the nerds who watched the entire health care summit last Thursday. I have the liver damage from too many Excedrin™ to prove it 😉 Much of it was almost funny. Almost. Especially when Obama berated John McCain for “campaigning”. Seriously?This from the perpetual campaigner himself? He’s a funny, funny man our President is…
I guess what I would like to see is one freakin’ politician stand up before the American people and tell us honestly why this particular health care reform bill must pass yesterday, admit that he/she is totally ignoring the will of the People and explain the true political motivation behind their decision. Yeah, right…whose smoking weed now?
Looks like Senator Harry Reid will need to go to yoga classes. He’s going to have to learn the “Bend over, put your head between your legs and KISS YOUR ASS GOOD-BYE!” position pretty damned quick.
Even though the Anointed One accepted Harry’s apology (purely for the sake of party unity, I’m sure), I don’t think the voters in Nevada will be so kind. In their book Game Change Unabridged, John Heilemann and Mark Halperin reported the following:
Reid “was wowed by Obama’s oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama — a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’ as he said privately.
Isn’t it funny how Obama’s typical “rush to judgment” tendencies were on vacation when that little faux pax by Reid was made public, but he instantly came to the conclusion that Cambridge Police “acted stupidly”. Seems to me that Harry Reid’s comments were racist, period. No investigation necessary. Talk about “acting stupidly”.
Even my “favorite” little Liberal, Janeane Garofalo, has been remarkably quiet. I fully expected to see her plastered all over the news crying foul against Harry. After all, she has an uncanny ability to sniff out racism in places it doesn’t exist. Here’s a no brainer, sweetie. What? No snarky Harry Reid jokes?
Racial remarks seem to be running rampant in the Democrat’s upper echelon. According to Heilemann and Halperin, the ever-entertaining former President Hillary’s Husband is guilty:
[A]s Hillary bungled Caroline, Bill’s handling of Ted was even worse. The day after Iowa, he phoned Kennedy and pressed for an endorsement, making the case for his wife. But Bill then went on, belittling Obama in a manner that deeply offended Kennedy. Recounting the conversation later to a friend, Teddy fumed that Clinton had said, A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.
Hmmm, Billy. Would he have been doing that from above or below the desk? 😉
Since Teddy is dead (oh, and by the way, so is Michael Jackson…in case you hadn’t heard…yup…still dead…), there is really no way to confirm whether or not these comments were actually made. I tend to believe it, though, since they were spot-on about Harry.
I know my Liberal friends (and family) will be quick to point out that this book also contains stories about Cindy McCain, Sarah Palin and others in the Republican party. I can’t wait to read those myself. However, my focus is on the two-faced attitude in Washington today. The Dems have ripped Michael Steele for being an “Uncle Tom”, called Tea Party Protestors “redneck racists”, and taken every opportunity to attack any anti-Anointed One comment as racially motivated. You see, we can’t just disagree with Obama because his policies are ridiculous. There has to be some sort of ulterior motive. We can’t possibly oppose his ideology and want an intellectual debate about the issues. We must have a racial agenda (and white sheets hanging in our closets, if you listen to Janeane).
Two-faced party-line politics such as this do qualify as one of the Anointed One’s “teachable moments”. I have learned that, more than ever before, we need to vote them all (Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike) out of office and start with a clean slate.
